Philip “Ward” McKinley III is the Founder and Manager of Copernicus Hedge Fund LP, Copernicus Partners llc & Copernicus Investment Manager llc. He holds a BA and MA of Architecture from Tulane University and an Asset & Portfolio Management certificate from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. Raised in North Carolina, he started his trading career in 1999 riding the wave of the dot com boom. Later pursuing his passion of Architecture became a City Planner for the State of New York , specifically the area of Battery Park City in New York City starting in early 2001. He was awarded recognition from the Mayor and Governor of New York for his work in the rebuilding efforts of 9/11. He then went on to co-found Transept Ventures, a real estate investment firm focused on Austin Texas. After selling out of the real estate with success he returned to his passion of the stock market, to better assist others in growing & preserving wealth. Outside of money management Ward resides with his son in beautiful Vail Colorado and also is the Founder of CharityGood.org , a humanitarian relief and access to arts based charity. He believes in having things down to a science, but more so elevated to an Art form.
